Atlético goalkeeper Everson sidelined with foot fracture

Atlético goalkeeper Everson will be sidelined due to a fracture in his left foot. The injury was confirmed by club doctor Rodrigo Lasmar after the player competed in a recent match against Cruzeiro while using analgesic injections to manage severe pain.

The club has opted for a conservative rehabilitation protocol rather than surgical intervention. While an exact return date has not been set, Everson is expected to miss five key matches, including two Copa Sul-Americana quarter-final legs against Santos and several Campeonato Brasileiro fixtures against São Paulo, Fluminense, and Chapecoense.

Everson is anticipated to return after the upcoming FIFA international break, between September 24 and October 6. During his absence, youth academy graduate Gabriel Delfim is expected to take over as the starting goalkeeper.
