Atlético Madrid interested in Hoffenheim midfielder Leon Avdullahu

Atlético Madrid has reportedly expressed interest in 22-year-old midfielder Leon Avdullahu for the upcoming summer transfer window. The Kosovar player, currently playing for TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, is viewed as a potential defensive midfielder who fits the tactical profile sought by Diego Simeone's squad.

Hoffenheim previously rejected an attempt by Atlético to sign Avdullahu last summer, viewing him as a vital part of their project. Although he is under contract with the German club until 2031, reports suggest a transfer could be possible next year. Hoffenheim reportedly values the player at approximately 50 million euros, a significant increase from the 8 million euros paid to FC Basel for his transfer.

FC Basel stands to benefit financially from a potential move due to training compensation and sell-on clauses. Avdullahu has become a regular starter for Hoffenheim, recording 48 official appearances since his arrival.
