Atlético Madrid unveils revamped Walk of Legends with 17 club icons

Atlético Madrid announced a complete overhaul of its Paseo de Leyendas at the Metropolitano stadium. Club members voted, with 47,095 socios selecting 17 historic figures from a shortlist of 200 former players. The final list, ordered by points, features Fernando Torres, Luis Aragonés, Paulo Futre, Diego Simeone, Gabi, Adelardo, Escudero, Ben Barek, Diego Godín, José Eulogio Gárate, Enrique Collar, Kiko Narváez, Milinko Pantic, Diego Forlán, Aparicio, Arteche and Radamel Falcao. Club president Enrique Cerezo said, “Estoy convencido de que hoy ganamos.” The Social Commission also voted unanimously to add Antoine Griezmann as a future member, recognizing his record‑goal‑scoring tenure, while active players such as Thibaut Courtois remain excluded. New plaques and a mural will be installed before the first home league match.

The new Walk of Legends will initially display the 17 selected legends, with the possibility of further inductees proposed by the commission.
