Brasileirão: Cruzeiro wins derby and Grêmio escapes relegation

In the 33rd round of the Brasileirão, Cruzeiro defeated Atlético-MG 1-0 at the Arena MRV. Kaio Jorge scored the decisive goal early in the match, securing Cruzeiro’s third consecutive victory and moving them to third place in the standings with 57 points. The victory also served as a form of revenge for Cruzeiro following their recent elimination by Atlético-MG in the Copa do Brasil.

In another key matchup, Grêmio defeated Athletico-PR 2-0 at the Arena do Grêmio. Goals from Marlon and Balbuena allowed Grêmio to climb out of the relegation zone to 15th place, while simultaneously pushing rival Internacional into the bottom four.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has released the schedule for rounds 35 and 36. A highly anticipated clash between title contenders Palmeiras and Flamengo is set for November 21 at Nubank Parque. Flamengo currently leads the championship with 73 points, holding an 87.3% probability of winning the title.
