Atlético-MG signs Uruguayan striker Thiago Borbas on loan

Atlético-MG announced the loan signing of 24‑year‑old Uruguayan forward Thiago Borbas from Red Bull Bragantino. The deal includes an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the loan period. Borbas, who previously spent the first half of the year on loan at Spain’s Real Oviedo, played 12 matches there without scoring. He was the 2022 Uruguayan league top scorer and recorded 27 goals in 134 appearances for Bragantino before the move.

The player is expected to report to Belo Horizonte for medical examinations before officially joining the Galo. The club hopes the acquisition will add depth to its attack following the departure of Hulk and to improve its chances in the national competition.
