Atlético Mineiro coach updates status of youth prospects

Atlético Mineiro coach Eduardo Domínguez has provided updates on the development of two highly regarded 17-year-old prospects, Gabriel Veneno and Riquelme.

Domínguez noted that Gabriel Veneno requires further physical development before being integrated into the professional squad. The coach expressed a desire to avoid placing the young attacker in high-pressure situations that could impact his confidence before he is physically prepared for the demands of the senior level.

In contrast, Riquelme is closer to making his debut. His absence from the main group was attributed to contractual and documentation issues, which have since been resolved. Following a contract renewal in August that extends his stay until 2029, Riquelme has returned to training well and is being considered for opportunities with the first team.
