Atlético Mineiro is shifting its organizational focus back toward its youth academy, moving away from a strategy of signing established players past their prime. This cultural shift aims to revitalize the club's identity as a producer of elite talent.

Despite previously selling talent at low valuations, the club is benefiting from the solidarity mechanism. For example, Savinho, who was sold to Manchester City for 6.5 million euros in 2022, is expected to generate an additional R$ 10 million for Atlético following his recent transfer from City to Tottenham. Additionally, Alisson was sold to Shakhtar Donetsk for approximately 14 million euros in early 2025.
