Atlético Mineiro signs Thiago Borbas as Flamengo eyes Thiago Almada

Atlético Mineiro officially presented Uruguayan forward Thiago Borbas on Thursday, confirming a loan deal from Red Bull Bragantino with a purchase option. The 24‑year‑old striker said he felt quickly at home, praised the club’s project and pledged to give his full effort to help the team achieve its goals.

In Brazil, Flamengo is engaged in a transfer dispute over Argentine midfielder Thiago Almada, who is training in Spain. The club’s director José Boto travelled to Argentina to discuss terms with Almada’s representatives, emphasizing Flamengo’s desire for a swift resolution and warning it will not wait indefinitely for the player’s decision. River Plate also remains interested, but financial concerns have slowed its offer.
