Atlético Torino and Deportivo Caysa qualify for Copa Perú National Stage
Atlético Torino and Deportivo Caysa have secured their places in the 2026 National Stage of the Copa Perú representing the Piura region.
Atlético Torino advanced after defeating Alfonso Ugarte de Vice 2-0 in the second leg of their series. Following a 2-1 loss in the first leg, Torino secured the comeback through a penalty by Nils Alania and a late goal by Owen Farfán. However, Alfonso Ugarte has filed a formal complaint regarding the alleged improper registration of four Torino players and violations of safety protocols concerning the use of flares and extinguishers by local supporters.
In the other matchup, Deportivo Caysa advanced after a 0-0 draw against San Martín Occidente in the second leg, which leveled the aggregate score. Caysa won the subsequent penalty shootout 4-2. The two qualifying teams, Atlético Torino and Deportivo Caysa, are scheduled to face each other in a single match on neutral ground to determine the departmental champion of the Piura Football League.
