Atlético Tucumán and River Plate reshape squads amid injuries and player releases

Atlético Tucumán, under coach Falcioni, completed a focused transfer window by signing three players: defender Juan Rodríguez, midfielder Julián Fernández on loan, and striker Alexis Canelo. The moves address the loss of goalkeeper Gastón Suso, the departure of midfielder Javier Domínguez, and the need for attacking depth, aiming to secure the club’s place in Argentina’s top division.

River Plate, after a series of poor results, has placed 15 players in a provisional training area dubbed the “container” at the Cantilo site. Nine of those players remain there, including 2022 World Cup winner Germán Pezzella, while six have secured exits. The situation reflects internal turmoil and the club’s search for additional reinforcements as announced by coach Eduardo Coudet.
