Atlético Tucumán reaches Copa Argentina semifinals after penalty win
Atlético Tucumán has advanced to the semifinals of the Copa Argentina after defeating the defending champion, Independiente Rivadavia. The match, held at the Estadio Eduardo Gallardón, ended in a 1-1 draw during regulation time before being decided by a penalty shootout, which Atlético Tucumán won 3-2.
Independiente Rivadavia took the lead late in the first half through a penalty converted by Álex Arce following a VAR review of a handball. However, Atlético Tucumán secured a dramatic equalizer in stoppage time when Alexis Canelo scored in the 92nd minute. In the ensuing shootout, Atlético Tucumán goalkeeper Luis Ingolotti became the hero by saving three penalties, securing the victory for the team led by Julio César Falcioni.
