Atlus announces Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival for Nintendo Switch 2
Atlus has announced several major updates regarding its Persona franchise. During a Nintendo Direct presentation, the studio confirmed that Persona 6 is in development for the Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, Persona 4 Revival is slated for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 on May 20, 2027, following its initial launch on other platforms in February 2027.
Series producer Kazuhisa Wada discussed the studio's long-term vision for the franchise, describing remakes as a form of ‘cultural preservation.’ Wada indicated that Atlus is considering developing modern versions of Persona 1 and Persona 2 to ensure these early titles are not lost to time and remain accessible on modern hardware.
Persona 4 Revival aims to modernize the original experience by updating graphics, cutscenes, and the combat system—including the addition of the Baton Pass mechanic from Persona 5—while maintaining the core social link systems and strategic depth of the original game.
