Metaphor: ReFantazio demo arrives on Nintendo Switch 2

ATLUS has released a free prologue demo for Metaphor: ReFantazio on the Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of the game’s official launch on November 12, 2026. The demo is currently available in several regions, including the United States, Japan, and Australia, though availability in other markets like Italy is pending.

The playable demo allows users to experience the opening of the fantasy RPG, including the first four dungeons, several characters, and the Archetype system. A key feature of this release is the ability to transfer save data from the demo to the full version, ensuring players do not have to restart their progress upon purchasing the complete game.

Originally released in 2024 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, Metaphor: ReFantazio was a major commercial and critical success, winning multiple awards including Best RPG at The Game Awards 2024. The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version marks the title's expansion to a new platform two years after its initial debut.
