ATM accessibility issues and cash advance mechanics in Turkey
Citizens in Turkey are reporting increasing difficulties accessing cash through Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). Despite the national ATM count reaching 56,814, users are filing over 1,500 complaints weekly regarding insufficient cash reserves, technical malfunctions, and banknotes becoming stuck in machines. These issues are particularly acute during salary payment periods and in regions with limited ATM density.
In relation to cash access, credit card cash advances serve as a practical but costly alternative for unexpected needs. Unlike standard bank account withdrawals, a cash advance utilizes the cardholder's credit limit, creating a debt that is subject to specific interest rates and fees. Users are advised to verify their specific cash advance limits, as they may differ from total shopping limits, and to carefully review interest terms before proceeding via ATM or mobile applications.
