AtmoHub simulation maps smoke spread from Greek forest fires over Corinthian Gulf

A pilot atmospheric‑information service, AtmoHub, released a simulation of smoke dispersion from large forest fires recorded on 1 August 2026 in Porto Germeno, Boeotia, the Skaloma area of Fokida and Aigialia in Greece. Satellite observations and numerical models show the fires generate substantial smoke plumes. The model indicates prevailing weather conditions drive the plume from the Porto Germeno fire southwestward, covering the Corinthian Gulf and a large part of eastern Peloponnese. Smoke from the Aigialia and Fokida fires is projected mainly westward, following the general wind flow. A video of the simulated dispersion was published alongside the report.
