atNorth to build 2 billion euro data center in Salo, Finland
atNorth, a provider of Nordic data center and AI solutions, is constructing a new data center, FIN05, in Salo, Finland. The company’s direct investment is estimated at approximately 2 billion euros. This figure does not include an additional estimated 10 billion euros that customers may invest in servers and hardware.
The facility will span 28.6 hectares. The first phase requires 75 MW of electricity, which has been secured, while the total project capacity of 230 MW has been mapped. The center will connect directly to the national grid via a Fingrid substation.
As part of its sustainability and community integration strategy, atNorth plans to utilize waste heat from the data center for local community needs. The company also intends to enter long-term electricity purchase agreements to support local energy production and develop flexible solutions to assist Fingrid in efficient grid management.
