ATO Toscana Centro approves budget safeguards and 2026‑2029 waste‑tax plans

The assembly of mayors of the ATO Toscana Centro convened at the Castello dell’Acciaiolo in Scandicci, with 58 of the 65 municipalities present. Delegates approved measures to safeguard budget balances and set the general budget for 2025‑2027.

The assembly also endorsed the revamping of the Montale waste‑treatment plant as the chosen solution for integrated waste‑cycle management and adopted the Economic‑Financial Plans for 2026‑2029. These plans, prepared under the third regulatory tariff method for waste, permit each municipality to deliberate its TARI rates by 31 July in accordance with national legislation. The budget safeguard was approved by 54 votes (89%) and the financial plans by 43 votes (87%) with some opposition.
