Atom-Jet Industries expands Brandon facility amid U.S. tariff pressures

Atom-Jet Industries, an agricultural equipment manufacturer based in Brandon, Manitoba, is expanding its production capabilities following a $1 million federal investment. The funding is provided through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI), a program designed to assist manufacturers facing trade disruptions and changing conditions with the United States.

The investment will support a 4,000-square-foot expansion of the Brandon facility, allowing the company to bring powder coating and sandblasting operations in-house. These changes aim to reduce production costs and lead times while increasing overall capacity. The project is expected to create approximately eight new jobs.

To mitigate the impact of U.S. tariffs and reduce reliance on U.S.-linked business and original equipment manufacturer customers, Atom-Jet plans to diversify its market presence. The company intends to increase direct-to-customer sales within Canada and expand its reach into Australia.
