Atomos launches Shinobi 7 II HDR field monitor

Atomos has introduced the Shinobi 7 II, a new 7-inch HDR field monitor designed for filmmakers, photographers, and content creators. The device features a high-brightness 2,800-nit display, allowing for clear visibility in direct sunlight. It is positioned as a lightweight and portable option compared to traditional 5-inch monitors.

The monitor supports real-time monitoring of Log, HLG, and PQ signals with more than 10 stops of dynamic range and includes 3D LUT support. Key professional tools integrated into the device include waveform, vectorscope, false color, focus peaking, zebras, and anamorphic de-squeeze. It also allows for on-device calibration using compatible probes.

Through USB-C connectivity, the Shinobi 7 II enables camera control for various mirrorless models from brands including Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony. Users can adjust settings such as aperture, ISO, shutter speed, and white balance directly via the touchscreen. The monitor supports HDMI input and output up to 4Kp30. It is expected to be available this month with a suggested retail price of USD $499.
