Atomy executives donate 100 million KRW to disability welfare foundation

Atomy Chairman Park Han-gill and Vice Chairman Do Kyung-hee have donated 100 million KRW of their personal funds to the PyungAn Milal Welfare Foundation to support people with disabilities.

The donation was prompted by Vice Chairman Do’s visit to the foundation, where she observed the challenges faced by those with disabilities. The funds were utilized to cover operating costs for a large-scale camp held in July, which hosted 850 individuals with severe disabilities. This 40-year-old event had previously faced difficulties due to a lack of funding for meals, but the contribution ensured the 4-day program could proceed successfully.

Park and Do have a history of significant personal philanthropy, with cumulative personal donations exceeding 10 billion KRW. This includes major contributions to Compassion Korea and disaster relief for COVID-19 and earthquakes in Haiti. Atomy as a corporation has also contributed a cumulative 140 billion KRW to various social causes, maintaining one of the highest donation-to-revenue ratios among South Korea’s top 500 companies.
