Mexico regional updates: river sanitation, social programs, and search operations

Various regional initiatives and environmental cleanup efforts are underway across Mexico. In Puebla, authorities and local communities are participating in a national cleaning and reforestation campaign for the Atoyac River. This action is part of a federal commitment to sanitize the three most polluted rivers in the country.

In Hidalgo, Cemex has joined efforts to rehabilitate the Tula River through cleaning activities and volunteer support to address pollution and wastewater discharge. Meanwhile, in Córdoba, local officials participated in a river cleaning event, though the administration faces scrutiny regarding municipal waste management and contract transparency.

Social programs are also active in other regions. In Saltillo, Coahuila, the 'Alimentos de Corazón' program is distributing basic food supplies to 3,500 rural families. In Zacatlán, Puebla, a citizen service day provided medical, nutritional, and dental services to vulnerable populations, alongside the delivery of school equipment and mobility aids.

Separately, in Ocampo, Tamaulipas, an inter-institutional search operation involving civil protection and canine units is searching for a missing resident, Rodrigo López.
