Atran Airlines Boeing 737 stranded at Cologne/Bonn Airport
A Russian Atran Airlines Boeing 737-400F, registration VQ-BVF, has been parked at Cologne/Bonn Airport since February 27, 2022. The cargo aircraft was scheduled to fly to Liege, Belgium, the following day, but remained grounded due to aviation restrictions following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The aircraft is currently located on a long-term parking area and does not interfere with daily airport operations. While an external maintenance company performs regular inspections on the 28-year-old jet, the airport reports that no payments have been made for its stay.
With daily parking fees estimated between 150 and 180 euros, the accumulated debt is estimated to be between 250,000 and 300,000 euros after approximately 1,690 days. The airport spokesperson stated that there is currently no contact with the responsible party, leaving the question of who will settle the bill unresolved.
