Atresmedia to adapt BBC Studios comedy format ‘Nation’s Dumbest’

Atresmedia is set to adapt the international comedy game showNation’s Dumbest’ for Spanish television. The production will be a collaboration between Atresmedia and Brutal Media, a subsidiary of BBC Studios.

The format features celebrities competing in logic, mental, and physical challenges with an unconventional goal: avoiding the final to prevent being named “the worst.” The show relies on humor and the participants' ability to laugh at themselves, where losing at the right time can be a winning strategy.

Originally created by Montreux Film and Fjernsyn, the format has seen significant global success. Its US adaptation on FOX reached 8.7 million viewers, and it has also achieved high viewership in markets such as France, Sweden, and Denmark.
