AT&S expands Malaysia facility through partnership with Marvell Technology

AT&S has entered into a long-term agreement with US semiconductor company Marvell Technology to supply advanced integrated circuit (IC) substrates for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

This partnership supports AT&S’s investment program of up to two billion euros to expand its manufacturing facility in Kulim, Malaysia. The expansion aims to increase capacity for modern IC substrates used in AI and data center applications. Marvell joins AMD as a confirmed partner helping to co-finance the expansion.

The shift in demand is driven by technological changes where multiple specialized chips, known as chiplets, are increasingly combined rather than using a single large chip.
