ATS Insubria reports high volume of drug safety notifications in Lombardy

ATS Insubria has collected 71.2% of all territorial drug safety reports in the Lombardy region during the first half of 2026. According to regional reports, the agency recorded 602 out of 846 total reports attributed to Lombardy's health agencies, representing a density of 405.8 reports per million inhabitants.

An upcoming meeting in Varese on November 12, titled “Pharmacovigilance: a network that protects,” will discuss this territorial model. The initiative aims to highlight the collaborative network between health institutions, pharmacies, universities, and medical professionals that facilitates the reporting of suspected adverse reactions to drugs and vaccines.

The event will feature speakers including Salvatore Gioia, Director General of ATS Insubria, and regional officials to discuss how this reporting culture serves as a tool for public health monitoring and treatment safety.
