AT&T CEO outlines fiber and wireless growth strategy

AT&T Chairman and CEO John Stankey outlined the company’s long-term growth strategy during the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference. The strategy focuses on expanding fiber infrastructure and strengthening the wireless network to drive customer growth and reduce churn.

Stankey emphasized a fiber-led convergence strategy, which aims to integrate wireless and broadband services to provide a seamless connectivity experience across satellite, Wi-Fi, and fixed networks. He noted that this approach is designed to improve customer lifetime value and brand loyalty through integrated features rather than just offering discounts.

The company has maintained consistent strategic priorities for approximately five years, investing heavily in its asset base. Stankey indicated that recent quarterly results show evidence of an inflection point resulting from these investments, with the goal of achieving faster growth and improved profitability profiles.
