AT&T hikes prices on legacy mobile plans, adds hotspot data

AT&T will retroactively raise monthly rates on a group of older unlimited mobile plans beginning in August. The increase is $10 per line, capped at $20 for multiple‑line accounts, and each affected plan receives an additional 20 GB of mobile hotspot data. A newer set of plans will see a smaller $5 per line increase and a 10 GB hotspot boost. Some customers already experienced the hike in April, while others who activated plans between July 24 and Nov. 1, 2025 will see the change in August.

AT&T said the adjustments reflect “the real cost of continuing to deliver the speed, reliability, and support our customers expect every day.” This is the carrier’s second retroactive price increase, following a similar move in 2024. Industry analyst Roger Entner noted that maintaining a limited number of plans helps reduce operational complexity.
