AT&T, Verizon and T‑Mobile Provide Free Robocall‑Blocking Apps
AT&T, Verizon and T‑Mobile each offer a free security app that blocks unwanted robocalls—AT&T’s ActiveArmor, Verizon’s Call Filter and T‑Mobile’s Scam Shield. The apps work at the network level to intercept spam calls before they reach the user’s phone.
Consumers can also add their numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry, a free service that requires telemarketers to stop calling within 31 days of registration. Additionally, iPhone users can enable “Silence Unknown Calls” and Android users can turn on the “Caller ID & Spam” filter to block unknown or suspected spam calls directly on the device.
