AttackIQ appoints former DISA CTO Dave Mihelcic as Federal Field CTO

Cybersecurity company AttackIQ has appointed Dave Mihelcic, the former Chief Technology Officer of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), as its Field Chief Technology Officer – Federal.

In this role, Mihelcic will assist federal agencies in transitioning from reactive, compliance-driven security processes to a continuous operating model. This model utilizes threat intelligence, adversary emulation, and evidence-based validation to identify defensive gaps and reduce ‘threat debt.’

Mihelcic will also oversee the federal adoption of AttackIQ’s AVA Agentic OS. This AI-powered operating system is designed to coordinate specialized AI agents across various cybersecurity functions, such as detection engineering, attack-path reduction, and security-control optimization, to improve the speed and precision of cyber missions.
