Attestor to complete full buyout of Condor by August 2027

German leisure airline Condor has announced that its British majority shareholder, Attestor, will exercise an option to acquire the remaining 49 percent stake in the company. This transaction is scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2027.

The restructuring marks the exit of the German federal government and the State of Hesse, which had held the remaining shares through SG Luftfahrtgesellschaft. This state involvement followed the insolvency of Condor’s former parent company, Thomas Cook, and the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Condor had already repaid its 175 million euro KfW state aid loan ahead of schedule in early 2026.

The buyout occurs during a period of financial complexity. While Condor reported an operating profit (EBIT) of 151 million euros for the 2024/25 fiscal year and saw passenger numbers rise by 13 percent, the airline recorded a net loss of approximately 110 million euros, attributed to factors such as internal loan interest and leasing valuations. The airline continues to modernize its fleet and expand its network through the Frankfurt hub.
