Attica education officials request dress code change for new teachers

During a swearing-in and induction ceremony for newly appointed teachers at the Regional Directorate of Education of Attica, two educators were asked to change their attire.

The Regional Director of Education of Attica, Dionysis Anastasopoulos, noted that the two individuals were wearing shorts and sandals, which he deemed unsuitable for the formality of the occasion and the professional status of teachers. The educators were requested to leave, change, and return to complete the process.

Following the instruction, the two teachers returned wearing long trousers and closed shoes to finalize their appointment. Despite the incident, Anastasopoulos welcomed the new teachers to the educational community, stating, “Today is the day to fulfill your dream.” He also offered his support, promising to defend them against any personal or professional insults encountered in their roles.
