Attica Governor Nikos Chardalias Launches AENAON Coastal Megaproject

On 16 July 2026, Attica regional governor Nikos Chardalias reviewed his first 30 months in office, citing 352 projects funded at a total of €2.587 billion and outlining a 2½‑year operational plan for the region.

The centerpiece of the plan is the Metropolitan Park “AENAON” at Faliriko Ormos, a 741‑stremma coastal redevelopment that will create a unified green corridor from Faliriko to Lavrio. Budgeted at €370 million, the project will plant over 4,000 trees, add cultural and sport facilities, expand public spaces and guarantee free sea access, with the ambition to make Attica one of the most powerful Mediterranean metropolitan hubs by 2030.
