Attica Governor Nikos Chardalias Reports 58.8% Completion of Regional Projects
At a presentation in the Athens Concert Hall on 14 July, more than 3,500 citizens attended as Attica regional governor Nikos Chardalias delivered the 30‑month report of his administration. He announced that 352 projects and interventions, funded with a total budget of €2.587 billion, are 58.81% completed.
The breakdown includes 24 projects finished, 88 under construction, 60 already awarded, 35 cleared through audits and moving toward tender, and 145 still in the preparation stage. Priority sectors are flood and fire protection (64 projects worth €508 million), green and urban infrastructure (76 projects worth €409.6 million) and road safety (31 projects worth €192.9 million). Notable works highlighted are the new Metropolitan Park “Aeon” in the Faliraki area, the Skaramanga triple junction, upgrades to the old Athens‑Thebes road, installation of 388 electronic traffic‑violation systems, new footbridges and improvements to Kifissou Avenue.
Chardalias also reported progress on the “Attiki On” programme, which approved 1,044 investment plans for small enterprises and allocated €90 million to 253 social facilities serving about 150,000 beneficiaries. Government ministers and senior officials were present at the event.
