Nikos Chardalias reports 58.8% of Attica projects done at 30‑month review

On Tuesday 14 July, Attica Governor Nikos Chardalias held an open presentation at the Athens Concert Hall to mark the first 30 months of his administration. He detailed a regional development programme comprising 352 projects and interventions with a total budget of more than €2.6 billion, covering all 66 municipalities of the Attica prefecture.

Chardalias announced that 58.81 % of the pre‑election commitments are already on track, highlighting progress in flood and fire protection, road safety, environmental upgrades, social cohesion and entrepreneurship. According to the figures released, 24 projects have been completed, around 88‑89 are under construction and 60‑61 have entered the tendering phase. The governor stressed the need for accountability, quoting: “Ήρθε η ώρα της λογοδοσίας. Ήρθε η ώρα να δώσουμε λογαριασμό ευθύνης.”

The event was attended by senior government ministers, local officials, military representatives, clergy and civil‑society leaders. Chardalias also presented the operational plan for the next 2½ years, which will continue the rollout of the remaining projects and maintain the focus on resilient infrastructure and balanced resource allocation across the region.
