Attica Region begins construction of Supported Living Homes for people with disabilities
The Attica Region has launched a program to construct three Supported Living Homes for people with disabilities, beginning with a new facility in Ilioupoli. The project, which has a budget of 3.25 million euros plus VAT, is funded by European resources through the Attica Regional Program 2021–2027.
The first structure will be a three-story building situated on a 1,100 square meter municipal plot. It is designed to accommodate 18 beneficiaries in single rooms and will include amenities such as a garden, parking, and recreation areas. The 'Hermes' Association of Parents, Guardians, and Friends of PWDs has been designated as the project owner and will be responsible for the facility's operation.
Attica Governor Nikos Hardalias stated that this initiative aims to provide citizens with disabilities the ability to live with security, autonomy, and dignity within their communities. The region has already funded 13 such structures and is now proceeding with these three new developments to meet increasing needs.
