Attica Region hosts conference on the psychology of Artificial Intelligence

The Attica Region organized a conference titled ‘The Psychology of Artificial Intelligence: Trust, Truth, Relationships and Human Autonomy’ at the Athens Concert Hall. The event, part of the Digital Literacy initiative, brought together scientists, academics, and educators to examine the psychological, social, and ethical implications of rapid AI expansion.

Attica Governor Nikos Hardalias issued an open invitation to the 66 mayors of the Attica region to collaborate on organizing information sessions between November 2026 and April 2027. The goal is to ensure citizens gain substantive knowledge about the technology, understand its applications, and learn to recognize associated risks, such as manipulated digital content.

The conference focused on how societies can utilize technological capabilities while safeguarding human judgment, personal autonomy, and responsibility. The initiative is co-financed by the European Union through the ‘Attica’ 2021–2027 program.
