Attica Region launches digital Project Observatory for metro projects
The regional governor of Attica, Nikos Chardalias, signed a contract to create a Project Observatory that will monitor the region’s 352 metropolitan projects and interventions through 2028. The system, described as one of the first comprehensive digital tools of its kind in Europe, will operate from the regional administration building and provide 24‑hour, real‑time tracking of project progress, budgets, timelines and any delays.
Citizens will be able to view the status of each project in their area from the first half of 2027, enhancing transparency and accountability. Chardalias said the initiative fulfills a key pre‑election promise and marks “a new page of transparency and efficiency in public administration across the country.” The Observatory will use advanced data‑analysis technologies to give both officials and the public a complete view of project developments.
The launch is intended to reduce bureaucracy, tighten oversight and improve public trust in the execution of large‑scale infrastructure works in the Attica region.
