Attica Region launches network of 36 farms to boost local production

The Attica Region has concluded the inaugural ‘Attica Open Farm Days 2026’, an initiative designed to support the primary sector, strengthen local production, and promote agritourism development.

The program established a network of 36 farms and agri-food production units. The event included 35 organized activities that drew over 550 visitors and involved more than 330 students through educational visits. Additionally, the ‘Open Farm Agora’ hosted 16 workshops focused on local products, culinary arts, and gastronomic traditions.

Attica Governor Nikos Hardalias stated that primary production serves as a vital developmental pillar for the region, contributing to the local economy, employment, and the preservation of the area's unique character. The initiative aims to create new opportunities for small production units by leveraging education, gastronomy, and tourism to diversify income sources for local producers.
