Attila Ambrus, the former Hungarian bank robber known as ‘The Viszkis’, has revealed that the rights to his life story have been sold to an American producer for a potential film or series adaptation. The project is reportedly being developed for Netflix and may take the form of a feature film or a multi-part series.

Ambrus, who served thirteen years in prison before being released in 2012 and subsequently finding success as a ceramicist, noted that discussions with the producer are ongoing. There has been speculation regarding Keanu Reeves potentially portraying him, a possibility fueled by the actor’s background in ice hockey, which aligns with Ambrus’s own history as a former hockey player. The project has faced previous delays, including the impact of the writers' strike.

In recent personal reflections, Ambrus also discussed his life following his release, including his transition into a new career and the end of his long-term relationship with his former partner.
