Attila Egry resigns as Fidesz faction leader in Józsefváros

Attila Egry, the Fidesz-KDNP faction leader and municipal representative in Budapest's Józsefváros district, has resigned from his mandate. Egry has been involved in Józsefváros municipal work since 2003, previously serving in roles such as committee leader and deputy mayor.

Following the resignation, Józsefváros Mayor András Pikó met with Egry to express thanks for his service. However, the Mayor also used the occasion to criticize the Fidesz party, stating that the group has “continuously worked against Józsefváros” in recent years. The exit occurs amid ongoing political friction between the Mayor's leadership and the Fidesz faction regarding local development projects, civic funding, and resource allocations.
