Attila Árpa criticizes massive budget of ‘Most vagy soha!’ film

Actor and director Attila Árpa has publicly criticized the massive budget of the historical film ‘Most vagy soha!’, produced by Philip Rákay. Árpa stated that the budget for the single production could have funded at least ten of his own ‘Argo’ films.

The controversy follows an investigation launched by the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) regarding suspected budget fraud involving state subsidies for the film. With a reported budget of approximately 7 billion HUF, ‘Most vagy soha!’ is the most expensive Hungarian film ever made.

Philip Rákay has denied any involvement in criminal activity, noting that as a creative producer, he focused on artistic content rather than financial or production decisions. He has characterized the investigation as a ‘government political circus’ and has indicated potential legal action.
