Attila Árpa discusses Hungarian actor salaries and industry instability
Actor and director Attila Árpa has shared insights regarding the financial realities of the Hungarian film industry. During an appearance on the Neshama TV program ‘Én és a pénz’, Árpa noted that daily rates for Hungarian actors can sometimes exceed those of their Hollywood counterparts, reaching as high as 350,000 HUF.
However, he emphasized that despite these high daily fees, professional income remains highly unpredictable due to long gaps between filming periods and general industry instability. Árpa also discussed the financial difficulties of film production, citing his film ‘Argo’ as an example of a project that failed to secure grant funding and resulted in a financial loss.
