Attrition wins second Hill Stakes title at Rosehill
The horse Attrition secured his second $2 million Hill Stakes victory at Rosehill on Saturday, defeating rival Lindermann in a close finish. Ridden by jockey Jamie Mott, Attrition overcame the $1.70 favorite by a half-neck in the final strides of the 1900m Group 2 feature.
Trainer Mitchell Freedman, who prepares horses in Ballarat, Victoria, noted that the horse's campaign was specifically structured to peak for this race in his fourth run. This victory brings Attrition's total career earnings to over $5.5 million across 33 starts. Freedman indicated interest in returning next year to attempt a third consecutive title.
