ATU announces tourist transport stops and reports AeroDirecto growth

The Urban Transport Authority for Lima and Callao (ATU) has announced 21 authorized stops for tourist transportation services to assist visitors in the Lima and Callao regions. These designated points are located near major attractions in districts including Miraflores, Cercado de Lima, Callao, Barranco, and San Isidro. To ensure safety, the ATU advises travelers to verify that vehicles and drivers are officially registered, noting that authorized units must display the inscription ‘Servicio turístico’ and feature a purple-banded license plate.

In related transport developments, the ATU reported that the AeroDirecto service has surpassed 3.5 million trips between January and September 2026. These routes serve as a formal public transport alternative for passengers traveling to and from Jorge Chávez International Airport. The ‘AeroDirecto Terminal Norte’ route has seen the highest demand, nearing one million users, by connecting the airport directly to the Gran Terminal Terrestre Plaza Norte.
