ATV names veteran journalist Varga Edit as lead evening news anchor

Hungarian broadcaster ATV announced that veteran presenter Varga Edit will become the main anchor of its flagship evening news program, ATV Híradó, beginning in September. Edit brings decades of experience from MTVA’s news division, the Virtuózok and Játék határok nélkül programmes, and most recently a seven‑year stint at InfoRádió and her own publishing house, Felhő Café Könyvek.

At the same time, long‑time ATV Híradó editor Anikó Vogyerák is departing after six years to resume her career at MTVA. The channel thanked her for her contributions. As one social‑media post highlighted, “Ez nem ladik, ez anyahajó!” (This is not a ship, it’s a mother‑ship).
