Atze Schröder recalls awkward TV encounter with Thomas Gottschalk

Comedian Atze Schröder has shared details regarding a difficult television appearance during the 2019 “50 Jahre ZDF-Hitparade” anniversary gala. Speaking on Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre’s podcast, “Dein Ernst,” Schröder described feeling out of place during the event.

Schröder was invited to perform a parody of the late moderator Dieter Thomas Heck. Despite Schröder’s repeated requests to be addressed as Heck during his performance to maintain the character, moderator Thomas Gottschalk introduced him to the audience by his real name, Atze Schröder. Schröder noted that the experience was shaped by this error and a perceived lack of humor from the audience.
