Aubac presents first sustainability report in Rome
The Central Apennine District Basin Authority (Aubac) has released its inaugural sustainability report during an event in Rome titled ‘Water, territory and public value’. The report aims to provide transparency regarding how basin planning contributes to public safety, environmental protection, and sustainable territorial development.
Operating across more than 42,000 square kilometers, 901 municipalities, and seven regions, Aubac manages resources for over 8.6 million inhabitants. The 2025 report was developed voluntarily with methodological support from Sapienza University of Rome. It integrates economic-financial reporting with environmental, social, and governance analyses aligned with the 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals.
Key initiatives documented in the report include the development of a unified planning framework for flood and landslide risks, the strengthening of a permanent observatory on water use, and the activation of a monitoring network for the lakes of Albano, Bolsena, Vico, and Bracciano.
