Argentina implements new traffic fines and license extensions

Various regional updates regarding traffic regulations and administrative measures are being implemented across Argentina. In Catamarca, the city of La Capital hosted a certification program for motorcycle instructors, overseen by the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) to ensure high standards for driver's licenses.

In Buenos Aires province, professional driver's licenses facing expiration between July and October 2026 have been extended by 120 days due to operational difficulties in accessing training and psychophysical exams required under a new national regime. Additionally, traffic fine values in Buenos Aires have been updated, with penalties for offenses like speeding or driving under the influence reaching significant amounts.

Regarding tolling, Aubasa has announced that starting September 15, drivers evading tolls on the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway will face fines between $180,000 and $250,000. Meanwhile, on Route 226, electronic tolling has resumed, with costs doubling for those without a TelePASE device. In Entre Ríos, the ATER has released the September payment schedule for motor vehicle and vessel taxes.
