Aubrey Banks faces scrutiny over résumé and criminal history

Aubrey Banks, the manager for R&B artist Summer Walker, is facing scrutiny from insiders at Interscope Records regarding his professional background and criminal history.

Sources close to the label have reportedly challenged Banks’s claims of previous employment, specifically disputing his assertion that he worked in the A&R department at Interscope Records from 2008 to 2012. Insiders suggest that Banks may have used fabricated credentials and job titles to secure his current position managing Walker.

In addition to the résumé discrepancies, court records indicate that Banks pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree forgery and identity theft fraud in 2017, for which he received three years of probation. Financial records also show that Banks previously filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, reporting approximately $402,000 in liabilities.
