Auburn football hosts alumni day to reconnect former players

Auburn University hosted an alumni day on Saturday, bringing together more than 200 former football players spanning from the 1950s to the 2020s. The event allowed former Tigers to reconnect with one another and engage with the current squad ahead of the upcoming season.

First-year head coach Alex Golesh, who was hired last December, has prioritized strengthening the connection between current players and alumni. To support this initiative, Golesh hired Jeris McIntyre, a former Auburn wide receiver, as the director of high school and alumni relations.

During the event, which included an open practice and a lunch at the Woltosz Center, coaching staff emphasized the goal of rebuilding the program's culture and returning to prominence within the SEC. Coach Golesh stated his intention to bring back a level of toughness, accountability, and integrity to the program.
